Once Upon A Time…

Was tuning in to the radio on my way to work today and it was a pleasant surprise to hear an old song from my high school time.  It’s an old cantonese song from my idol Jacky Cheung, it’d instantly reminded me of many sweet old memories.

He’s my first love.  He’s tall and handsome, just like how many romance novels would describe their main character to be.  I still remember those days when he would accompany me to wait for my bus after school, and how he would surprise me with small little gifts every now and then.  It’s hard to describe, but those feelings were just pure and simple, we could sit there and talked and laughed for whole day over simplest things in life.  There’s nothing about who should pay what bills, how to plan or save for the future etc etc.  There’s no mobile phones or PC or instant messaging.  He would call me at a specific time everyday from public phone and it would ring three times and stop before it rang again.  So I’d know it’s him.  Those were the days :)

Don’t ask me how it ended and where is he right now.  We have all grown up and we have all moved on.  What I would like to hold on to and keep reminding myself is, the sweet and simple puppy love that I once had.  And I am grateful of the different journey in life, no matter good or bad - it’s made me a better person, that I’ll treasure and appreciate the ones I love now.

However, I am not sure if I’d be happy in the future to know that my daughter is seeing someone during high school (or earlier).  I might end up killing that boy.

    Haha so lomantic! :p

Ahh the nostalgia of childhood innocence.

Me and my first love communicated through little messages left in his locker. He gave me his pass code. And these were all done behind mummy’s back. Haha!

Nowadays, kids hook up through MSN and SMSes. Tcheh! Not sweet at all.

I also think puppy love is a great experience. And like you, I think I would also kill the boy who goes after my little Megan! But I dread to think of what other people’s mothers would do to my little Ryan!
